# June 2010 marks the third Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month. This annual event aims to celebrate the rich heritage, history and culture of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

This powerful 20 minute DVD reveals how young Gypsy and Irish Traveller children deal with the racial abuse they encounter. The film contains interviews with a number of children and young people who recount details of the harassment and abuse they face on a regular basis.

This is a report of a recent research project commissioned by the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) to explore the range of issues around working with Travellers, Irish Travellers, Gypsies, Roma and Showpeople, as well as the support and training available to staff involved. The research was conducted by the NfER and published in 2009.
